I’m new where can I learn more about series, Parrell (I can’t spell okay) and the other terms used here?

This was a bad review. I got the bass and it’s one of the best instruments I’ve ever played with a great sound and feel, even beyond the “be like Steve” tone.

I love how some commenters are trashing you for stating objective facts: it doesn't sound like the models it's emulating. Or they move the goalposts by saying "but it's versatile!". If someone can't tell the diff between the Variax and a Stingray then they have no business calling themselves a bass player.

It is unclear from the video what is so nice and special about this bass. Good sound, yes. No doubt about the build quality, the components, the playability and the looks. But I do have a lot of doubts if it worth the money. If you want something special, OK. But compared to quality basses from e.g. Ibanez or Yamaha the tone (in particular with EQ) is not distuingishable from boutique basses. Or does this bass better on e.g. dead spot, low B tone, better humpf-attack, warmer sound, etc

I love it watch this video so many times. I bought one and have added a dark glass to swapped the kneck to a Ernie ball music man stingray. And some elnicko's I know I didn't spell that right sorry. But I do want some Aguilar's instead but who knows we will see

I have one and LOVE it. It sounds great and the saddles have never given me any trouble and the neck dive isn't any worse than my Jack Casady. Its beautifully built and plays smooth.

Hi Lobster! last weekend i tried one of this basses, sunburst with rosewood fretboard (or similar), block inlays and tort pickguard.. i must say it really impressed me.. it didn't had any qc issues and it had a special mojo, strange for this price bracket.. of course the american counterpart feels even better, but this could perfectly be the main and reliable bass for the working musician with limited budget, and still sound great..

Im sure people will pay a bit more for better pots ect abit tacky i think

That bass is a tone monster, you can pull so many different tones out of that set up that you can play virtually any style of music.

The noise you experienced is coming from your own poorly wired circuits, not the instrument. Perhaps, once you've managed to grow up considerably, you would be able to look into that and stop pretending to be a six year old girl, desperate for the validation of strangers? All were good, but the Relentless got the guitar's mojo

The Guild is the winner in this comparison. It just sounds more punchy and upfront. I own the Starfire II. I was going to consider the Starfire I but I didn't buy it because it didn't have the bi- Sonic pickup in it. The necks on the guild basses are extremely comfortable to play. I find the neck on the Jack Cassidy to be somewhat of a log.

Would changing out the string give it a better low end sound?

There’s no difference in sound between this two basses. Rosewood or maple fretboard when relatively new you can’t tell the difference sound wise. You might be able to hear a difference when both instruments are quite old 30 years + where the fretboard wood has cured over the years. Then and only then you might be able to hear a slight difference !

Please review the Ibanez Acoustic Fretless that is about $500 USD.

I feel like the sound of the G&L is like. The Ultimate "Bass" sound. Like it takes what you think of in a Bass sound(mostly a P-Bass, but with some stingray and jazz too) and just OOOMPHS it. The Stingray though is a lot more convenient and has that crisp articulation that makes it easy to forget it's a passive, plus it's surprisingly thumpy! The rolled off tone noise is pretty strange on the Stingray but kinda cool

I own a P7 and with all due respect, my Ibanez and Jackson basses feel like toys compared to the outstanding quality of Sire. P7 convinced me I didn't need the more expensive P8.

Are you still using SIT? I'm looking for a new string for my Gretch Jr. Jet. I had hoped I could find a set of Dean Markley SS Helix. I have them on another short scale bass and love them! Sadly they were discontinued. I'm strongly considering SIT. Any suggestions for my Gretch?
